The plot is about a thirteen-year-old boy, Zane, has to unravel an ancient prophecy to stop an evil god and prevent Mayan gods from battling each other and destroying the world. When Zane was trying to defeat the evil god he discovers that a cane that he has relied on because of his disability could prove helpful to connect him with his father and ancestry.

2. Reactions

The second book we would recommend is Reactions. This book was written by Theodore W. Gray and Nick Mann. You can find it amongst the other non-fiction books in the library, in the 500s! This book describes chemical reactions in a fantastical way, looking at reactions as if they were magic, yet explaining them in a comprehensible way. The book manages to teach you science while also loaded with odd facts and interesting information! It is one of the books Claire would really recommend!

3. When Breath Becomes Air

The third book I would recommend is When Breath Becomes Air. This YA (young adult) book is a memoir of the author, Paul Kalalanthi, a medical worker, who unfortunately succumbed to cancer. His painful, enrapturing story pulls you along a journey that also gives you more insight on what doctors and surgeons have to go through to get where they are, and many more hardships we might not hear about. You can find this work in the narrative section of the library, along with the other narrative books!

This book is one of the most famous classics of all time and is about the treatment of an elegant black horse in the 19th century under good and bad masters. In this book, you will go in-depth about an animal’s emotions and story. The book is one of the best classics you could ever read and both Claire and I think it has a really touching story.

11. A Series of Unfortunate Events

The eleventh book series I would recommend is A Series of Unfortunate Events. The 13 book series is written by Lemony Snicket. It’s located in the Humor section of the library. A short description of these books is that it’s about 3 siblings trying to run away from an evil man that is trying to follow and capture them for their inheritance. The siblings travel to different locations to hide from him while solving much mysterious mystery’s but he always finds them. This was one of the most mysterious and intensifying book series I have ever read and I recommend you to try reading this series.

After reading this article, I hope that you have found a book that you are interested in and will likely read. Even if you don’t quite like reading, it’s still important and necessary for daily life. Also, remember the phrase “The more you read the more things you know, the more that you learn, the more places you will go.” Thank you for reading!
